RF Online Info: Mining

Mining is probably the easiest and fastest way to acquire wealth in RF Online. Here's a simple 5-step method to get started with mining:
1 - Purchase a digging tool and a battery pack from the ORE merchant in your race's HQ.
2 - Go to the Crag Mines via the teleporter in your race's HQ.
3 - Equip the digging tool in your weapon slot and enter combat mode.
4 - Select the type of ore you want to mine for in the small window that pops up and press "Move Mode".
5 - Go take a nap or watch TV.

Congratulations, you're on your way to becoming a millionaire. It is probably a good idea to bring multiple battery packs along with you if you're planning on an extended mining session. When your character uses up a battery pack, they will automatically switch to another pack if there is one available.

Mining in just any old spot in the mines will net roughly 1 piece of ore every minute. Mining in the central crystal mines when your race wins a Chip War nets about 8 pieces of ore every minute, so the advantage to holding the central mines is huge.

When you're all finished with mining, you can either sell the unprocessed ore to NPC vendors for some quick cash, or you can pay the ORE vendor a steep fee to process it for you. If you choose to process the ore, you will obtain several crafting materials and a small chance to obtain jewelry and talics, which have a variety of uses. As a general rule, stronger ore has a higher chance of returning talics, but also costs more to process. The type of crafting materials that are obtained from the refining process depends upon the type of ore that was processed:
